My name is Lynette Pierce, and I'm excited to be the counselor for PreK through 5th Grade students in Elysian Fields ISD. I have a Master's of Education in School Counseling and 25 years in education. I am married to Larry Pierce (EF class of '92) and we have 2 children.

Your child's well-being is a top priority for the staff at Elysian Fields Elementary School. As the school counselor, I work to maximize student success, promoting access and equity for all students. I will lead, advocate and collaborate to promote equity and access for all students by connecting their school counseling program to the school’s academic mission and school improvement plan.

So what does Mrs. Pierce do?

• Guidance Curriculum--Guides students in developing their full potential
• Such as monthly social/emotional discussions
  
• Includes character education
• Individual Student Planning--Guides each student in planning, monitoring, and managing well-rounded development
• Such as making goals
  
• Responsive Services--Intervenes on behalf of any student whose immediate personal issues impede his/her education
• Such as short-term individual, group and crisis counseling
  
• System Support--Works to increase efficiency and efficacy of students’ education by coordinating resources in the district and community
• Such as referring to outside counseling
  
• Includes locating help for families having trouble meeting basic needs
